Default Developers where are you?

Hi all developers,

We are interested to know how many MP users are out there that:

1. Can develop (whatever language or level)
2. Have thought about helping out

Have you thought about helping out ?

If so what stoped you?
If not why not ?

Regards,

/James

I like to think that I'm helping by writing (or attempting to write) a pocketPC server and client (MPBlue)

Hi,

I can develop in C# (not very good but just ok)
I'm pretty good with SQL, PL/SQL and data modelling (Oracle)
I did some work for MP (cd autoplay / music reorg)
I don't have much time

Wanna do more but time is a difficult thing

The first thing on my todo list is the autoplay for dvd similar to the one of the CD.

Tfro

Hi,

I can develop in C# too.(not very good but just ok) (thanks tfro for the sentence :-) )
It is hard for me to do something, because it is not very well documented.
I am only writing programs in my free time, so its difficult to understand and to find out in the MP code the things I need.

I have some ideas, but I dont know how to start or to go on.

Default Opening up to more developers

Allow people to use scripting languages.

One way would be via COM automation. That way people could use a language of their choice: Python, VB, VBScript, Javascript, C++.

Or just pick a language and embed it (please make it Python ;-) )

Instantly quadruple the number of developers and tweakers and shorten the learning curve for people who have an interest in dabbling.

I could learn C#. I just would rather not!

Hi,

I'm from Switzerland and I develop mainly in Java, C++ and C#. I know a bit about DirectShow and Direct3D.

Problem is I don't have many time to spend in big projects in my free time.

I did create a set of logos for the Switzerland users :

http://nolanparty.com/mediaportal.so...pic.php?t=9512

With a nice script which could be used by all the logos makers... (lot's of time gain !)

I have some plugins idea :

I have some Java code which could be ported to C# to send SMS trough the Swiss Orange website (free sms if you're swiss orange customer).
A plugin to get the tv news video from www.tsr.ch (swiss french-part TV-channel), since they are using RSS this should not be so hard.

As you see some idea but not many time.
