I have been experimenting with registering and unregistering filters in hidden mode via girder. However, you have to change channels for it to initiate ;-)

Would be cool with a completely working filter though ;-)

Let's see what happens with the development of the new tsreader. I have a feeling that it may solve some (maybe even all) issues for the subtitle filter as well.

Sorry that there has been so long time with no updates to the filter or on information related to it.

- Current SVN version doesn't work anymore with the test filter that has been provided in this thread
- TsReader indeed should solve some of the issues I was having with the MS Demuxer and TSFileSource (althou currently there are some new TsReader specific issues

- There will be a completely new filter that is intented to be used with TsReader. Currently it's at somewhat working level (some .ts samples are working with some minor glitches)

So currently the best thing what you can do is to help testing the TsReader.ax, like Seidelin has already pointed out.

I just want to make a note about page_time_out. It is not used to decide when
the subtitle is to be removed (is is used to avoid that the subtitle stays on screen
if update or deletion messages are missed).
The subtitle should be removed when a page composition page with no regions is
received.

I was quite happy with this test filter and now I'm (my wife is) very disappointed cause it doesn't work anymore and as somebody knows time when analog broadcasting ends is quite close here in Finland.

Is there any hope that the DVDSub filter is back soon?

I'll look at that change later on, it needs some bigger changes in the filter / MP...

About the TsReader - When it is activated, how does it helt showing DVBsub? Do one still have to use the .ax file from this tread?

Read the thread tourettes link to. It explains it all in the first post. To use the new dvbsub2 filter you must use a very recent SVN (todays would be a good bet). (And be prepared for frequent updates for stability.)
