Default How to control external display from plugin.

Hello,

today I started to have a look at the source code with the intention to start writing my own plugin. My plugin will initially be a non gui plugin, it implements IPlugin. From this I want to run a background thread parsing data from the internet and update on the external display (VFD in my case...). I want to be able to control the text on the display even if TV or Movies are running (and thus showing their content on the VFD). Is this possible?

I was looking through the code for some time but did not find out how the text on the external display is controlled. Is it possible to put text on it from a non gui plugin. How is it done from a gui plugin? Any help or hints are welcome.

Best regards,
Roelster
