I have this question as well, I have installed My Mplayer but still cant find the option. If i select the dvd in the compress section of the transcoder plug I get a request for an audio file.

any ideas?

Maybe thats why this dosen't work for me. I am using the new RC1 (Single seat) on Vista, and get errors every time.

I have made my own .bat files with ffmpeg to do what this plugin dose, but I would perfer to use this plugin as I don't have to exit MP all the time to start it up.

Ok still cant get this to work. I am running Vista, with Media Portal 1 (RC1) with the latest build (30-5-2008). It is a single seat with TVE3. I have installed VideoConvertor, VideoConvertor TVE3 Server and VideoConvertor TVE3 Client plugins.

I am using the default profile to encode a .ts file (mpeg2 video/mp2 audio)

When I try to encode it pops up for a split sec saying it is encoding and at 1% then errors.

Also a minor problem is that I am running with the Indigo skin but the screen is a jumble (looking at the logs shows that it can't find the .xml file for that skin)

I have included my logs (I hope they are the right ones)

Hmmm still cant get this to work..... pitty. Looks like it's back to my custom bat files. I hope one day someone will make a working plugin.

EDIT: An update, I got it to work (sort of) if I select Mencoder with no cropping over 4. Any cropping past that all will make it error. Also the cropping happens AFTER scaling so I dont get 640x480 but instead 632x472.

This could of been a good plugin but as it is at the moment it is useless for my needs (I need it to crop video from 16:9 to 4:3 and other things), pitty the everything alse works well but for the limited mencoder settings

Don't you understand that the last version of this plugin was released almost 6 months ago for a different version of MP and TV server (0.2.3.0)? I think you are showing a lack of respect for the author's hard work by saying things like "it could have been a good plugin" and "i hope one day someone will make a working plugin". Maybe a detailed bug report that explains everything that works and what doesn't with some logs would help fabrice a bit more when he decides to update?

You miss understood me. Maybe I could of written it better. I did not mean to 'offend' the author as you said.

I meant that it could of been a good plugin 'For Me'. I have tried many different ways for encoding my recorded shows. And I am yet to find a working one 'For Me'

As for logs I have already posted them. I have also been trying this plug in from time to time (from MP 0.2.2, 0.2.3 and 1 RC1 as well as older version of this plugin)
