MP plugin for Video Transcoding

Hello All,

Sorry for my long pause but i work a lot to transform this patch in plugin. You can download the first version of the plugin (compatible with MP svn and may be 2.2.0) . Only theses skins blueTwo are supported (it is possible to copy the skin files in custom skin folder)

Extract the rar file in the root folder of your MP installation. Once the installation finish, launch the configuration.Exe , go in plugins section and configure your encoding profile in Mediatranscoder plugin. ! IMPORTANT ! no check are available yet to test if the parameters selected are no conflict with the encoder selected (plan in next version)

After launch MP, Go in plugin MediaTranscoder, go in settings to select the current profile and to finish go in compress to select the tv record to transcode. Normally the transcoding progress state are automatically updated.

All bugs found and also new profile (parameters correction) are welcome[/color]

Hi fabrice,

There is a bug which prevent me of testing your plugin

(you should post your source file so we can fix them by ourself and post back)

Here is the problem :

You have to use the Config.GetFile() method to retrieve the "transcode" folder path because the working path can be modified by 3rd party (E.G. Visualizations) when they are loaded and then MP setup working path is not current mediapotal folder anymore. So it tries to search it in some weird place on your HDD.

Great I could start it yesterday after disabling all the visualizations. I saw others bugs but could easily compress a TV show. Great work !!! Thanks

As a result, the settings are not saved.

I'm using MediaPortal-svn--02-13-2007--01-02-Rev12949, should I be using a more recent one, or a certain svn build?

Hi just doing some encoding now, whilst watching TV, Great Mate.

only 1 query and i do not know whether it is related to your prog or not, can only see a very limited amount of recordings ie 9, when there are at least 25 in recorded TV, all are dvr-ms files and range from 1.5gb - 3gb in size.

Any answer from anyone to give me a clue why not showing up. Have only one recorded\timeshifting path for all cards F:recorded.

Sorry Noelix, it is stupid bug :-(

here a new version which fix the problem .

For PD , try this version and put the log level to debug, normally i trace on tv recorded returns by the database and the reason why i skip it

It's fantastic!

1 pass xvid compress works great.

But I've got an issue with 2 pass xvid compression: after I start the compression a quick command line popup (I can't read, it's too quick) and the compression gives error. Should I fill the additional parameter form? With what?

Like PD, not all of the recorded tv shows are showing up. More specifically, none of the recorded tv shows are showing up for me.

I really like this plugin!!

Can you add 544x576 video resolution (so I can transcode italian dvb-t stream in a 1:1 mode)?

P.S. I have the same issue with 2pass xvid compression mode
