I guess it is somethings that will come. But we are currently in a freeze phase of the development until the next stable version comes out.

After this, it will most likely be integreated.

I was wondering if there is any other posibility to test this feature, or to apply this patch?

Any news about this yet? I am also dying for this zoom mode (and so is the girlfriend ;-)

Actually, in an ideal world I would like the possibility to define custom zoom modes instead of it being hard coded. I would also like to be able to let MP automatically switch to the correct zoom mode (Zoom if letterbox detected, Strectch/Zoom when 4:3 detected). These things would indeed hugely improve the WAF.
