I have read and followed this guide:

And I have a problem when I get to the part 2, where I create a new rule. Then I cannot select any info in the boxes, so ultimately I get no rule created.

Umm, surely any issue you had should have been posted in that relevant thread. This is not a general MediaPortal support thing adn there is already a thread about this software (which you have linked to).
