Country: | Hi all, I recently built a media center pc and installed the latest MP software on it. It's attached to a 32" LCD and I noticed that picture quality is very bad when playing tv. I've been subsequently browsing this forum in order to look for picture quality problems with a Hauppauge PVR 500 (the tv card I'm using). However, I've also noticed that the quality when playing divx, avi files or even dvd's is pretty bad aswell. In this case, could the problem be related to my graphic card? I'm using a NVIDIA Geforce 7100 GS (latest nvidia graphic card drivers). I've seen a posting where someone had a similar problem using a nvidia graphic card and the solution was to install an older driver (80.24 I believe it was) since the new driver had a bug. Unfortunately, there's no older driver for my 7100 GS since this is pretty new card. Any ideas? Ah forgot to mention, I've used several video codecs, MPV, Cyberlink, ffdshow.... Someone suggested to buy the Nvidia codec. If this would solve my problem I'll be happy to spend those 20$ on that codec, but it would be very disappointing to find out that this doesn't solve my problem. Any help is much appreciated. Country: | Is it connected via HDMI cable or another connection. Picture quality in other applications besides MP, would be good to reference against as well. The above would help define a Hardware\software problem.

Country: | It's connected via DVI. pic quality is very good when browsing the MP menu, windows and so on... only when it comes to playing videos (any format, tv or dvd) it's kinda blurry and unsmooth. (looks like a bad dvd rip) |

Country: | Thanks wishywashy, Unfortunately, nothing changed using the nvidia purevision codec. Could this be related to my graphic driver? Unfortunately, I have no other graphic card to test with. :-( |
