Country: | MediaPortal Version: RC1 Windows Version: XP Media Center 2005 Hi I have a question regarding the size of my subtitles. The way it works now is that I place a .srt file with the same name as the movie, in the folder where the movie file is. I have subtitles turned on in MediaPortal Configuration, but when I change either font or size it doesn't work when I playback the movie. It works fine turning subtitles on and off in the configuration, if they are turned off, they don't show. Turned on they show but not in the selected size or font. Do I have to have anything special installed or use a special codec or something in order to control my subtitles or what should I do? Thanks in advance Last edited by kasperbs; 2008-09-04 at 00:45. |

| Portal Member | Wich kind of files are you watching? Is that an .avi? For avi i use ffdshow codec with the options for subtitles enabled so i can resize it with ffdshow function jumping around the mediaportal's subtitles section. Some post ago i talk about my problem with external subtitles with mkv files. |

Country: | Hi and thanks for your reply. When you say you use ffdshow codec, do you mean the same as you get when you install k-lite codec pack? If I understand correctly, I should download and install ffdshow codec, then from it's configuration menu select font size and color and tick the OSD box. Is that correct? |

| Portal Member | Yes it's the same that you install with l-lite codec pack. You have to set it in mediaportal configuration like the default codec for avi files, so go to ffdshow video decoder configuration (in K-lite codec pack-configuration) and check the "Subtitles" option. Inside the menu of this option you can change whatever you want. Probably you have to disable the subtitles inside Mediaportal configuration if you doesn't want to see it double. What color are your subtitles now? When i try to watch it without the ffdshow work around mediaportal render my subtitles only in black and i cannot change it! |

| i'm having the exact same problem, can't change the font/size of subtitles, they appear way too small on my screen and need to enlarge them. it appears that the subtitle font/size config on MP is broken for now (i'm using 1.0.0.0 RC2), so i've done the ffdshow workaround but it's not ideal because the subtitles may move off-screen when you change the zoom level/aspect ratio... |
