If I disable the power scheduler plugin the pc can go to sleep but, obviosely, it can't resume to record shows.

Thank You

Hi adams79,

I'm not an expert but I've played around with MP for a while including standby etc. A couple of things to check:

- In PowerScheduler and PS Client, what mode have you selected for standby, i.e. hibernate or standby.

- If hibernate, have you enabled hibernate from WinXP

- If you shutdown your PC from your remote it may not wake-up for scheduling, I prefer to have it go to sleep by itself after the defined timeout for PS and PS Client

- Have you any USB devices that interfere with the suspend/hibernate? You can check with MST (MCE Standby Tool)

Good luck!

/Peter

I'm using stanby and both on client and server plugin I've selected the standby mode. Deactivating the powerschedule plugin I can go to the standby correctly. Actually I'm using mst with a script to deactivate my skystar 2 on suspend and reactivate on wakeup; unfortunately in the script I need also to stop the tvservice bacuase, otherwise I can't get my SkyStar 2 disabled. I'm also using pvr-schedule to allow the pc to wake to record show.
I think that using the PowerScheduler plugin is better, so if there is a solution i will prefer this

Thank you

What about TVServer config\general wait xx seconds before detecting tv cards, does that not do anything, found a minimum of 20 seconds needed for my hauppauge card to reinitiliase (powerscheduler setting).

I had a similar problem on my laptop a few weeks ago, it just refused to go into standby when idle (64-bit Vista), while manual/forced standby worked just fine. Just when I was about to give up and throw the machine out the window I stumbled upon MCE Standby Tool (slicksolutions.eu/mst.shtml).

This fixed my problem: the machine very nicely goes into standby now as it should. I unchecked some of my USB devices and also used some of its Vista specific options, so not sure exactly what fixed it for me, but it works!

You can either fully install the tool or simply run it once to check your standby settings. The latter should be enough I think. Good luck!!

Without the powerscheduler plugin activated the machine will go to the standby without any problem. The powerscheduler prevent te macne to go to standby, I thnk isn't normal....

Now also with pvr scheduler the pc won't wakeup to record show.. without any error in the logs
Thank you
