Country: | Depends on the hardware being used. AFAIK FireDTV devices support it without any problems.

| Well, I've tested sceneo's TV central which is based on the meedio core and the KNC ONE DVB-S CI did work without any problem but playback was a big problem. The ci cam does not respond under mediaportal. so is this mediaportal related or driver related? Note: my Nokia Mediamaster 9800 has a CI menu. That means that the user had the ability to check if the CAM was working or not. It would be nice to have a CI menu in Mediaportal or how can I check why Mediaportal is not able to use the KNC ONE DVB-S CI card. |

| Wait: I was using WDM drivers under sceneo's tvcentral. But now BDA drivers under Mediaportal and perhaps it's a driver issue that causes the cullprit, meaning, BDA drivers and CI causes the problem. I'll check WDM drivers then. |

Country: | MP doesnt support cards using WDM drivers, you must use a BDA driver. Reason is that BDA supports a common interface for programs to run with, so little is needed to be done to get a card to run. WDM would need individual support for every card in existance. Edit: Try these drivers http://www.knc1.com/download/PhilipsBDA_Driver_Beta.zip Its the only BDA drivers they list on the site. |

| Now, does it really work? Somebody pointed me to KNC1 DVB-C and I have just ordered one of those cards with Cineview module and CAM.. I want to recieved DVB-C in germany, these channels are basic encrypted, so without the CAM working I will make no use of KNC1.. Would have spend lot of money on nothing .. for the moment ![]()

| Test done and CAM is not working with BDA drivers, not MCE version as beta version. Mediaportal says that it can't detect the channels, weird, why not something like: Ecrypted channel: access denied of seomthing like that. About WDM: How come that the CaptureCardDefinitions contains sections with "bda=false"? That means that they don't use BDA drivers no? Thing is, I can not use mediaportal if CI is not working and twinhan solution : CI slot is at back while it needs to be frontwards in this case. No cam menu so no clue what is going wrong. So last thing to test is in fact WDM approach. |

| Greeaaaatt ... ! I just ordered aa KNC1 DVB-C for german pay-tv (FTA is absic encrypted here). That means I cannot use it.. complety useless.. What else can I do? Some alternatives to FloppyDTV? I am not familiar with Technotrend card? Are they the same as Hauppauge? Do hauppauge also work? Which one do I need? There is a Techntrend DVB-C C2300 (which seems to be similar to the NExus-CA)
