Default DVD won't play

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.3.0
Windows Version: XP SP2
CPU Type: AMD x2 4000+
HDD: WD 500GB
Memory: 2GB 667 DDR2
Motherboard: GA-MA69GM-S2H
1. TV Card: DTV1000T
HTPC Case: NSK2480
Remote: MCE Remote
TV - HTPC Connection: HDMI - HDMI
DVD Drive: Pioneer 215BK

Ok up until yesterday everything was working fine. Today I put in a DVD to watch, I have MP set so it doesn't autoplay any DVD I put in, I select "Play DVD" from the main menu, and MP tells me to insert a disc to play. I check in My Computer, the DVD is detected as normal. Interestingly, if I try to play the DVD through WMP11 it tells me that there is a "problem with digital copy protection between DVD drive, decoder and video card. Try installing updated driver on video card." All drivers are up to date so I don't know what to do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Interesting, no one has had this problem before? DVDs will play in VLC though if that helps...

You need additional software to play these DVDs in MP (and WMP).

Also: Remember to always post logs when you encounter problems like this - that way people can actually know what the problem is, as opposed to guessing

Hi Tomek

Sata dvd player should be fine, make sure you have PowerDVD set as your codec for video in MP config as per picture

dvd-wont-play-capture.jpg

Hopefully that will work.

Tomek

Does this happen with all DVD's you try, or just particular ones.

If you navigate to your dvd\cd drive in any shares view (arrow pointing left at beginning), ie video\music, can you see the disk drive available.

yes, it's happen with all DVD's (a lot's of dvd, orginal)

there's not arrow pointing left at beginning when i navigate, and i see the disk drive and the dvd drive in my video and in my music, i can enter it and see what is in dvd, or cd, but when i put "play DVD" i have got this message: "unable to play disc, did you insert a disc?"
ok. i have installed PowerDVD 8 ultra and dvd start, but with black screen and that's it, aplication stops.
