| I really hope someone can help, I have been running media portal from day one, but never a day without problems. I now decided to downgrade from Vista to XP, but the situation is worse well regarding the GUI at least it is way too slow 10 fps. I have XP SP3 Intel 945 Chipset with all the latest driver direct from the Intel website 2GB RAM T2300 @ 1,66GHz When I ran Mediaportal Windows the performance is 50 fps, but fullscreen I get 10, but it feels even worse, everything moves jerky and hardly response to my remote. As soon as I managed to start a DVD the performance is superb, but when I press the INFO button and Mediaportal GUI is popping in, the performance drops, and the DVD stops playing properly aswell. I have been trying everything (for instance installing some egine updates and downgrade) I can think of for two days non-stop but now I give up.... I really hope someone can give me hand. Thanks in advance |

| Thx Spragleknas, but I already set it to use 128MB (just like it was in Vista without this problem). Forgot to mention in my first post, I also tried the 'trouble shoot' options in the Windows drivers settings but didn't make a difference. |

Doing a straight install over top of the SVN, my gui performance is around 3 fps. Quite miserable. I have since bitten the bullet and removed everything through a uninstall, and installed cleanly. I have changed back and forth between the default skin and the one I was used to using before RC2 with no effect. I did have to go in and correctly map my ati remote and for what appears to be no reason, the problem "went away". As of right now, about 30 + fps in gui. This bugs me because something in RC2 brought it on, and I am not sure what made it go away. Of note: Before the RC2 install, MP performance was starting to go downhill bigtime. For instance, starting a movie would take around 10-15 seconds for anything to happen, and then once it did, audio would start playing 5 full seconds before anything was drawn on screen. A clean install seemed to have rectified that for the time being, although "share" listing is still awfully slow.
