Failure to get software card hauppauge wintv express working

Synopsis::

I'm getting the "unable to create graph" when adding the software TV-card as mentioned above. I read the software card setup posts, but still no go.

The steps that I have performed:

Installed MediaPortal

Installed WinTV card, the drivers, and the WinTV 2000 program that comes with the card. I can watch TV with this program

Next, I installed the InterVideo WinDVR3 trial version. I can run this, and watch TV with it.

In MediaPortal, I can configure the InterVideo video encoder. But, when I try to add the WinTV card, I get the 'unable to create graph' message twice. And once when I try to start MyTV in MediaPortal itself.

Using GraphEdit, I can see/configure the InterVideo video encoder.

Is there another step to be performed? Does MediaPortal need to be told to use the InterVideo software encoder, or does it auto-detect its presence?

I've also installed the MainConcept encoder, as pointed out by http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Use...SW-Cards_setup

Still no luck though.

I have no idea where to look for troubleshooting. Could someone please help me?

Ok, got it working now, even though I had to figure it all out myself

I changed the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file for the WinTV Express entry. I had to explicitly
specify the InterVideo encoder filters, otherwise it wouldn't work. Maybe this should have been done in another way, but this works when WinDVR3 is installed.
