| Portal Member | Fast forward and rewind is working for recordings but handles very clunky. When I had standalone MP it seemed to work pretty well. 2x, 4x, 8x, etc. all seemed to move at the right speed and you could see the frames passing by so you knew where to stop. Now with a TV server/client setup this no longer works. The video just freezes and you have to guess when to stop. And it seems to move at random speeds. Researching others with similar issues people say this is a codec issue. I'm using a current release (beta4_rev1685_20071206_clsid) of the recommended ffdshow and don't want to change it because everything else is working great. Any other ideas on how to smooth this out? |

| 1) try different codec. Some codecs work better with the current way how FF/REW is implemented (some not) 2) use skip steps (left / right button). These are actually much faster way to seek into correct position
