Question A few issues i'm having

Okay, i've got a few problems i've been having with Media Portal.

1. MP 0.2.2 isn't stable for me, i run it but when I go to My TV i get a BSOD, its not just My TV but some other functions crash too. So i'm using 0.2.1 for now. What could it be?

2. TV Broadcasts stutter, now you'd think the hotfix would sort that, and it did, but its doing it again, now just in MP but in the Tuner application as well. This might be adware/viruses etc that may be on the system.

3. I can't pick up ITV or Channel 4, yet i can on my Freeview STB, and running the aerial straight into the tv gets both channels.

4. Is there an easy way to start my games through MP other than the My Programs function?

5. Is there any way i can control MP with my TV Tuner remote? The only buttons which work are Up[also channel up] Down[Also channel down] Left [Also volume down] Right [also volume up] and another button on the remote which looks like a enter button lol.

Thanks in advance

Most likely a bad hardware driver - highly unlikely to be MediaPortal itself. Next time it happens, you need to grab the BSOD error message and the MediaPortal.log file - they will give you the best clues as to the culprit. My guess would be that its your video card drivers?

This sounds very much like the TV signal strength is marginal - hence the stutters. You need to get a stronger interference free signal to the antenna input of the TV card.

PC TV cards are generally not as sensitive as STDs or TVs, so when the signal is marginal, it will affect the PC TV card first ...

Sorry, I will have to pass on this one ....

You probably can get it to work if you use something like HIP or Girder to capture the other buttons and send them to MediaPortal. Best solution though is to buy a Microsoft remote ...
