yupp, same here. Far less flickering but still noticable if you scroll through the guide.
Could be a different flickering issue as with Vista + VMR9 there is no hardware acceleration done.

It should be the same imho. VMR9 can use DXVA - so MPEG2 acceleration is usable.

Taken from the description on the bugtracker:

Quote:
Skin background and some of the skin elements are randomly randered as black boxes for short periods (flashing/flickering).
My system meets all of the requirements to reproduce.

But i noticed in the Aeon Wide skin that the "background" image (the fanart) never flickers. . The transparant skin elements and some of the text do. I know the fanart isn't the real background (and of type multiimage) but still it's unaffected why is this?

Perhaps someone can change the skin to disable the small video preview? With no video displayed there is no flicker.

I haven't heard that anyone would have been looking into this issue (for many months). In the end of spring / start of summer I did spend too much time with this issue and wont spend any more time on it.

As a workaround I did remove that ATI 3450 from my HTPC and replace with Nvidia 7600 (and yesterday with 9500). Cured also lot of other ATI related HW issues (like drivers crashing once per day).

How do you judge picture quality difference between ati and nvidia? And how does HD content play with ati?

Thanks

Problem is back here with the latest SVN and the latest ATI drivers. Had no problems with it on RC3 and i think ATI drivers 8.8 or 8.9. I need to check that!

On my development PC I have had the same issue with every single 8.x driver.
