Default Freecom DVB-T USB stick problems [Solved]

Hi ..

I'm trying to get the abovementioned hardware working with MP,
I have downloaded the BDA drivers and installed the latest patch(which is supposed to have the capturecard definition support for this unit) but still no luck .

A few things that I noticed though :

in:
<capturecard commercialname="Freecom DVB-T USB Stick"
capturename="USB Digital-TV Device Capture"
devid="vid_14aa&pid_022b&mi_00">
<capabilities tv="true" radio="false" mpeg2="true"
mce="false" sw="false" bda="true"/>

<tv>
<interface cat="capture" video="2" audio="3"
mpeg2="1" sectionsandtables="5"/>
<filters>
<filter cat="networkprovider" name="Microsoft DVBT
Network Provider" checkdevice="false"/>
<filter cat="tunerdevice" name="USB Digital-TV
Receiver" checkdevice="true"/>
<filter cat="capture" name="USB Digital-TV
Device Capture" checkdevice="true"/>
</filters>
<connections>
<connection sourcefilter="networkprovider"
sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="tunerdevice" sinkpin="0"/>
<connection sourcefilter="tunerdevice"
sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture" sinkpin="0"/>
</connections>
</tv>
</capturecard>

The device id is the same as my 'matching device id' property in the control panel, except , instead of saying :

devid="vid_14aa&pid_022b&mi_00

its said :

devid="vid_14aa&pid_0226&mi_00

also ..
I'm not sure how it works, but the device commercial name is :

capturecard commercialname="Freecom DVB-T USB Stick"
capturename="USB Digital-TV Device Capture"

whereas in my control panel its called

Freecom USB digital-TV reciever.

Also, is there something else I have to do after adding an entry to capturecarddefinitions.xml ? or is it parsed every time I open MP or MPSetup ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default

I had a lot of trouble getting this working. The solution however was very simple in my case... fresh install of MP (i'd been playing around with all sorts trying to get it working) and then i applied the stable patch (2.0.0.4 i think). Worked no problems after that. Sitting here watching it at the moment!
Good luck.

Smile

I finally got it working although I have to say that the antenna that comes with it is next to useless.

I'm posting this in the hope that it will help other users who are struggling with this hardware.

This unit does NOT like being plugged into a 4-port usb hub.
make sure that it is placed in a propper usb-2 ENHANCED port or else the drivers do no install propperly and MP cannot recognise the device.
