Generic MCE remote and IR receiver trouble

I recently purchased a remote from a seller on ebay that appeared to be a replica of an MCE v1 remote, supposedly produced by Dell. Upon receiving it, it seems to be a generic copy of the MCE but not affiliated in any way with any name brand company. You can see the exact item by checking out Ebay item #9722712647 .

When I plugged the USB IR receiver in, it wouldn't install, and I cant find drivers of any kind. Before I can even begin to work with the remote itself, I need to get the IR receiver up and running, but the only information I can find on drivers for similar products seem to rely on me having MCE, and of course, I don't want MCE, that's why I use Media Portal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if this isn't the type of question you normally deal with here, or if the form is off. I figured someone here might have a similar experience and be able to point me in the right direction.

i recently added a custom driver pack for the MCE remote. in fact i have the euversion, but you should give it a try. i guess the drivers are prettymuch the same...

edit: It's not in a category, --> MCE remote Driver for.... is the right one

Within 48 hours of posting my question, I found your driver. It got my remote working and finally completed my media center. I can't begin to thank you enough.
