Default Hanging on startup (AFTER SPLASH SCREEN)

Hello.

I'm unable to use media portal at all. I used to be able to but now it just hangs and uninstalling/reinstalling doesnt work.

When I start MP, the splash screen does its bit - then the MP window comes up but nothing appears inside it. The menu bar appears at the top (file menu) but even though I can browse the menus nothing in them actually works.

The screen cuts a chunk of my desktop window within it and I can move this around the screen. It appears that its trying to do something but leaving it for more than 20 mins has no effect.

I love this app, but its doing nothing for me at the moment. So all help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Could be a driver and/or directx problem.

TRy reinstaling both.

There is also a remote possibility that if your video card is running out of available memory that this will occur. Are you running any other apps that use a lot of video memory or are your video settings high; like AA,FSAA, AF etc. which will also reduce the amount of video memory available.

Have you tried to:
- uninstall MediaPortal
- delete MediaPortal folder
- install MediaPortal 0.2.0.0 (not 0.2.1.0)
- start Setup MediaPortal
- start MediaPortal
