Hard time switching from Meedio - too many bugs

Windows Version: XP SP2
CPU Type: P4 1.8
HDD: 40gb
Memory: 265mb RDRAM
Video Card: ATI 256mb 9200
Sound Card: AV-710 connected via optical to AVR
TV - HTPC Connection: DVI-HDMI 720P to Pana Plasma

I'm looking for a fairly simple setup, all my media is on another computer on the network. I don't wish to do any recording etc as it is all downloaded stuff. Meedio was working ok, but I like the interface on meedio portal so I though I would havea go at switching.

The media on the other computer is:

Movies\Movie Name\Movie
HDMovies\Movie Name\Movie
TV Shows\TV Show Name\Series\Episode
Music\Artist\Album\Tracks

- So basically all I want in the main menu is Videos, Music, Weather, if I only have these three it duplicates two of them in menu, why does it have to have 5 things in the menu?

- It's randomly slow, It takes 5 seconds to go from the main menu to videos, music etc, but other times it will happen straight away.

- I don't want the items listed as MY videos, MY music etc, I just want Music, Videos etc.

- When I reorder the menu items by dragging and dropping it, it will duplicate the item about 5 times and I have to delete the ones I dont want.

- No matter what order I sort the menu items into it wont show up like that in media portal.

- I have deleted the cd rom drive from the videos list, but it keeps coming back.

I tried media portal out on another pc on the network and it worked loads better, so it looks like the computer is just too old.

- Menu items only once:
No more repeating of same main manu entrys

- Remove the My:
Configure->General->Untick "Use My extension"

would a better graphix card (this one is not dx9) speed up media portal? or is it the lack of ram and cpu?

if you are using a dx8 card now, then a dx9 card will reduce the cpu load.
because right now, your CPU has to calculate the dx9 effects

it could be that this feature was introduced after the 0.2.1.0 release.
so you could either wait for the next release, or test a svn-build.

For v0.2.1.0, run MediaPortal Setup, select General -> Skin, and down the bottom, untick "Use string prefixes (e.g TV = My TV)" ... and that's it - no more "My" appearing in front of the menu items ...
