Hauppage 350 45 button Remote not working with RC2 of Media

Synopsis::

The Hauppage 45 Button Remote Control will not operate after installation of RC2. All other Versions of media portal seem to work succesfully

Just to update the forum, I've tried reinstalling the Hauppauge drivers, and the IR drivers for the remote. I've also tried reinstalling Media Portal.

I think its got something to do with the HCW helper program that launches - this never used to happen with RC1 and below, so I suppose its a new implementation of the remote control software thats causing the problem with mediaportal.

The log indicates that some of the keypresses are being registered when I use the remote, but as before, no control of media portal happens.

Any ideas?

I have no problems with this. I have the Hauppauge 23070 drivers installed, and integrated support set up in the config, with 'External Processes may use the Remote Control' and 'Keep control when MP loses focus' both checked.

Interesting stuff - I'll try downgrading my drivers for the 350 - maybe thats whats causing it.

I have tried checking and unchecking theboxes youve mentioned - but to no avail

I read in the changelog that the support for Hauppauge remotes was not working last night - so I presumed everyone would have this problem!

Same here, RC1 works ok, but RC2 doesn't.
Did you manage to solve this problem by changing hauppauge drivers?

Unfortunately not. There must be some sort of bug with RC2 - lets hope someone gets a fix soon! Other than this - I really like Media Portal!

There was some problem with this remote some days ago, should be ok when using latest cvs.
You also need to "reset" the configuration of the remote in MP setup.

Thanks for that. I've just installed the latest cvs, and have also tried a complete reinstall of Mediaportal RC2 - no luck I'm afraid.

I've tried resetting the remote, and have tried a reinstall after deleting the team mediaportal folder. Cant understand it at all.

Still works with RC1 ok.

My Haupauge remote (silver) works very well.

Just noticed - the HCWhelper icon keeps appearing and disappearing from the bottom right of the screen when I start media portal. Its as if its trying to start but cant do it.

I've tried disabling any programs that might interfere with it (anti virus etc) - but it doesnt change.
