Try this:
1. Download this file.
2. Run it so it unpacks itself to a directory.
3. Download the Hauppauge IR drivers from MediaPortal homepage, overwriting the IR32.exe that you unpacked in step 2.
4. Run hcwclear.exe and choose the options "Remove All WinTV Drivers and Applications (Total Removal)" and "Search All .INF Files for Conflicting Hardware".
5. Reboot
6. When the new hardware wizard starts, tell it to look for drivers in the directory you unpacked the drivers to in step 2. ("No, not this time", "Install from a list or specific location", "Search for driver in these locations")
7. Run Setup.exe in the driver directory and make sure to install the IR drivers. You should not have to install the WinTV programs and such.

NOTE!
It is not enough to just run IR32.exe instead of Setup.exe in step 7, that is the mistake I made. The Setup.exe updates the drivers somehow, so it has to be run.

GREAT!

Thank you so much for your help, both of you. This final advice paid of, and everything seems to be working fine for now

Hi

Just wanted to say that I had exactly the problems described as above and that the last post by MrMad solved everything, this should be in the manuals wikipages for the hauppauge 45 button remote control.

cudos to MrMad!

I followed the guide written by MrMad but it's not working for me. First of all, the "drivers" directory is not included in the hcw2_3b_23102pp2.exe package so i used the directory from another pvr 150 driver package when it asked for some specific files (hcwPP2.sys etc.)

The strange thing is, when pushing a button on my remote, i get sound out of my speakers (the normal response *bleep* when using your remote. BUT it appears two times...one push gives me two *bleeps*. Nothing happens and the remote ain't working.

Anyone same problem? It's one of the first pvr-150 editions with an oldschool IR receiver (no USB).

Cheers.
