| Area: Media Portal Configuration MediaPortal Version: (2006-11-21) MediaPortal Skin: BlueTwo Windows Version: Windows XP (SP2) .NET CLR Version: 2.0.50727 DirectX Version: 4.09.00.0904 (9.0c) Audio Codec: NVIDIA Audio Decoder Video Codec: NVIDIA Video Decoder CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4 - 2.40GHz Memory: 1 GB Motherboard: FB50 (Shuttle Inc) TV Card Model: Hauppauge HVR-900 WinTV TV Card Type: Hardware TV Card Driver: 4.6.606.24158 Video Card Model: Radeon X1600 Series (512 MB) Video Card Driver: 8.263.0.0 Video Card Resolution: 800×600 Video Render Type: VMR9 Audio Card Model: Realtek AC'97 Audio Audio Card Driver: 5.10.0.6050 Synopsis:: I'm attempting to get the Analogue part of my Hauppauge HVR-900 WinTV USB stick to run. I've installed the latest drivers form the Hauppauge website (CD-Digital-25e) and also the SoftPVR drivers (1_1_24013_SoftMCE_Setup) to get the MainConcept (MCE) MPEG Encoder. In the MediaPortal Setup program, when attempting to add or edit the Analogue portion of the tuner I get two message boxes "Unable to create graph for this device!!". I've had a look at the log file and there is an Exception thrown when trying to create the graph - Exception ystem.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Length cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: lengthI'm guessing that one (or more?) of the filters is incorrect. I have tried other versions of the drivers but I still get the same results. Any help with resolving this would be very much appreciated. Regards, Ian. |

| Hi, I decided to look at the error condition myself and compared the configuration.log output with the details in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file. It appears that the exception is being thrown when the audcapture filter was being loaded. There is a field called checkdevice that is set to 'true' which must cause the software to do some sort of confidence check on the filter. When I set this field to 'false', the check is not done and hence no Exception is thrown. The code then continues and a graph is created. I was able to scan the analogue channels with the HVR-900 successfully and I was able to use the device in the MediaPortal main program. I did wonder if the sound wouldn't work but all seems OK. So, problem solved, although I still don't know what the check is supposed to do. If any of the developers read this and can explain, I would be interested to know. Regards, Ian. |
