Country:

Default Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1100/1300

Are these cards fitted with dual antenna inputs or how do you get DVB-T and analouge to work without switching cables? (Which you don't want to do if you are sitting in a comfy sofa)

Will these card work with receiving HDTV sent by DVB-T?

If they do, will both MPEG2 and H264 work? (with software decoding of course)

*warning - n00b reply*...

i'm bored, looking for hvr-1300 info, probably know a bit more than you, but not much, so here we go...

it's fitted with one tuner that'll tune to either dvb-t or analogue broadcast. only one at a time. the signal comes through the same antenna. no need for two.

i've been reading the mythtv forums (linux tv software) and there's been a load of talk in there about recieving a test high definition signal that the BBC are broadcasting in the london area. the interesting bit is the people recieving it are using a hauppauge nova-t card, basically the same card as the 1100/1300 but without the analogue ability. apparently they can tune to the signal fine, but aren't getting any video (i think they mentioned an issue with h26something...)

So I'm guessing the card's will pick it up fine, but there needs to be decent software support to play it back (and fast enough hardware).

Actually, I dunno if the nova-t is hardware or software decoding. And I guess if it was software then you could decode whatever you like, and hardware might be restricted... hmm... you might wanna research that... but software decoding a HD signal is gonna want a pretty fast processor...
