Default Help with m4a files

Hi.
I have problems playing .m4a files in MediaPortal. MP just wont play my files. If I open the files up in Windows MediaPlayer it plays correct.
I have Nero Digital innstalled.

Can someone help me?

Hi

I also had problems with .m4a files.
Mediaportal would play them, but there were no sound.
So I did a little googeling and came across this site :
http://www.fourcc.org/codecs.php
Installed the mp4a codec and the problem was solved.

But, in my case, Windows mediaplayer wont play them, so maybe your problem is different from what I had. Or maybe you have a mediaplayer plugin I am missing.

Anyway, I hope this will help you.

Hi.

Thanks for the link.
I found a codec called CoreAAC a few days back, installed it and MP plays my music.
BUT MyMusic doesn`t show the lenght of the songs. Behind every m4a song it says 0.00.
Do you see the length of the song? Is there a way to get MP to show this?

And what codec did you install?

Just as you say the files shows with a lenght of 0:00, but on the now playing screen they show up the correct time.

I installed the codec called mp4a from media excel.

I encountered the same problem...

Downloading a copy of the 3ivx package did it for me...

As you all have said, the times don't seem to work, but the music does play...

3ivx D 4.5 - MPEG-4 Audio and Video Codec
