Default Help needed - Please

Hello Everyone sorry to bore you all but

I have been using showshifter for about a year and found it very limiting on what you can actually do with it so i installed mediaportal for the first time yesterday.

after several hours of looking through your forums and experimenting i have managed to install and configure AutoDVRConvert to automatically save the files i record to MPG and also sucessfully got COMSKIP to work to skip commercials out as well but i am having two main problems still and these are:-

1) the channel order is terrible and bears no resemblance to anything is there anything i can do to easily swap the order around so it is correct with the UK freeview standard apart from each channel individually clicking up a million times and manually doing it.

2)when you set something to schedule record in showshifter it used to at the time of recording automatically load showshifter and record it in the background allowing you to do other things on your pc while that is going on,and auto exit when finished, is this possible somehow in mediaportal?

keep up the excellent work everyone mediaportal has got to be one of the best media-TV type programs i have ever seen and best of all its free!!!

you will be hearing lots more from me in the future

thanks in advance for any help anyone might give

Unfortunately not as far as I've found. It is a matter of changing the order in the configuration application.

This might come along with the new TV Engine, which will operate as a service.

You don't have to click up & down all the time. Drag it with your mouse. (configuration.exe)

Use a more descriptive topic for your next posts, please.

It's not really possible, but there is a workaround. In configuration, you can set MP to go to system tray on exit or minimize. If you do that, it'll sit in the tray and record things that you've scheduled. I've never tried it myself so I don't know how well it works, but you might give it a go.
