Default Help on picture quality (call PVR 150 users!)

Since I hooked up my HTPC to my plasma the TV picture looks really bad.

I use a PVR 150 and the picture is noisy and unsharp. I already set the quality (Bitrate) high enough.
What else can cause this? Are there any other setting I could touch? I did not find any..

The antenna signal (cable) is the same as for my plasma and there the picture is 100 times better, so if this tuner does produce a nice sharp picture the PVR 150 should produce something similar.. maybe not that nice but nearby..

Please help.. its really horrible.

I suggest you try the Hauppauge tweak tool and adjust blur/sharpness. Also, I find the I get a clearer picture with the NVidia PureVideo codecs.

How do you connect your PC to your plasma?

Hi,

there are many parts that can be tweaked, so its often hard to find the right solution.

- Bitrate Settings (set it high)
- Codec Settings
- Type of graphics card
- Connection between PC and Plasma

Flip.

Will try the Hauppauge tweak tool. Where to get?

- I have already set the bitrate to high,
- Have tried all codecs and use the Nvidea (dont know if its called Purevideo. Do they have more than one codec?)
- Have a FX5200 gfx card
- connected the PC to plasma via DVI/HDMI adapter.. so its pretty sharp and nice..
