Default Help with settop box

Hi guys,

I've searched around for how to do this, but I can't seem to find a thread with all of the information, just hints. I have a directv box. I see there is a plugin, which is currently non-functional, that allows me to change channels on my settop box. Assuming that is fixed at some point, how do I tell MP to change the channel on my settop box instead of on the tuner? I also cannot seem to make the tuner lock to channel 4 (I'm connected via coax). This is the big stumbling block in my usage of MP. I've managed to set up the EPG. Thanks for any help.

You should be asking this question under that thread. I'm sure that someone who has used that plugin can help you. Creatinbg a new thread won't help you get answered any faster, in fact it may slow down the process.

Hi mzemina,

I'm not concerned about that plugin not working (although it would be nice), I'm more interested in locking the channel to 4. As it stands now, I have to shutdown MP and tune it either via graphedit, or WinTV2000 and then go back into MP. Also, 4 is the only channel in the lineup, so I don't even know what channel it defaults to (2?). This must be a common problem, or do people with STBs not use MP? I ask this in seriousness, because it seems as if several of the threads I've searched have ended without true resolution.

My System

Default

Hi,

If you would have read the thread concerning that plugin you would have known I recompiled it yesterday to work with current releases of MP. You could have had your system up & running by now... ;-)

Thanks scoop,

I also figured out how to lock it to channel 4. It was just buried in a configuration page.
