Country: | Hi all, Given some problems with my particular system (imon+antec fusion+MP), the power button has no effect in my system if MP is running. My question is: is there a simple way to make the computer hibernate from the remote in MP? Maybe running a macro? Maybe through a plugin? Thanks I have read a nice solution<here>, but it's an old post and it relies on (now obsolete) MCE replacement tool. |

Country: | Hi ocnos, Put the following command into a bat file and assign that bat file to a button press on your remote. rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState The command will standby or hibernate your computer based on the setting at: Control Panel / Power Options / Advanced / When I press the sleep button on my computer. If you have a supported remote, you could try the excellent "IR Server Suite" (search the forums) to control your PC/MediaPortal. This software has the added advantage that you won't need the bat file as you can enter the command directly into the IR Servers settings. :-) Hope this helps, Nick Name

Country: | Thanks! Unfortunately, IR Suite doesn't work with my Antec Fusion iMon VFD. I don't use MP remote options, I just map the keyboard shortcuts to buttons in my remote. That bat, should also do anything about TV server like your previous script did? |

Country: | Sorry ocnos but I am unsure which script you are talking about? I looked through the forum (that you linked in your first post) but couldn't see any mention of a script by me. FYI. I have written many scripts and utilities over the last few years that I have been using Mediaportal but most are not needed any more due to changes & improvements in MediaPortal. Just let me know which script it is and I will find it see what it does. If you just want a way to hibernate your PC, then the BAT file suggestion should do the trick when you assign it to a button on your keyboard or your remote. Regards, NickName.

Country: | Sorry, my fault. Put the wrong link above. <This> is the thread of your AutoIt script. I have updated it with Suspend(64) and now it hibernates when executing your script! That's exactly what I needed!!! So my question is if it should also do something about turning off tvserver or something to prevent eventual wake up problems, as in your original script you relied on obsolete MCE replacement tool. Thanks! |

Country: | No, it should all work well, no need to turn the TV server off. The only issue I had was that if TV was running in the little window on the home screen, the PC would not go to 'standby' mode, so my script just turned it the little TV (or video) window off. Regards, NickName
