Hello.

For my HTPC i use a Low-Power-System with an Via Epia EX 1500 Mainboard, which works with an Via C7 Processor with 1500MHz. (following Link)

http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/ma...erboard_id=450

The Chipset of this Mainboard has an built-in MPEG2-Decoder so i'd like to use this one instead of the usually used SW-Decoder.

Has anybody an Idea for me?

Thanks

I think you have the wrong idea, all it means by Hardware decoding is that the codec you use (Nvidia Purevideo, PowerDVD, WinDVD that support Hardware Acceleration etc) will be routed to this processor on the motherboard, instead of the CPU, so any "use Hardware Acceleration" selection is done in the codec configuration.

Regards

Ok, thanks for this Info.

Then, have the MP-built-in MPEG2-Decoders (at the Moment i don't know which one i've installed) the ability to use this hardware-Acceleration or is it necessary to install another SW-Decoder?

Try downloading Cyberlink PowerDVD and this will give you the option to use Hardware Acceleration in Video Performance, that is if you have the drivers installed correctly for the built-in MPEG2-Decoder

No the MPV codec supplied does not support HW acceleration.

As in my previous post, gave examples of the 3 main ones that do.

DJBlu, PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra, my choice also
