Default How to get MP to receive my Cable signal and decode channels

Hi all.

I am living i Denmark and have the danish cable-tv system called Selector.

I just wanna see if it's possible to get my MP box to replace the one delivered by my cable provider. (A Sagem box made for Selector).

I know I need:

1. DVB-C card
2. Somekind of Cardreader (Card is Viacess)

I don't want to spend a small fortune on this project.

Anyone have any experience with this and suggestions on what to buy?

Why replace it when you can controll it using IR-blaster (much cheaper)?

If know three options:
- Floppy/FireDTV - http://www.digital-everywhere.com
- Twinhan CAB-CI - http://www.twinhan.com
- Technotrend Budget CAB-CI - http://www.technotrend.com

I dunno about the Technotrend in regards to CI support in MP but I use the DVB-T versions of D-E and Twinhan in MP(With a Viaccess CAM).

Cheers,
Martin

Because if it can go into the computer case it's more fun

Just wanna see if it's possible. The only box I can get for my cable is the one the cable company have. And it's not good. Therefore it would be nice if I could control more from my MP computer.

But I think the price would be like about 250-265 € to get a solution, so perhaps the IR-blaster is the best way right now.

Thanks for the replies.
