Default How to make consecutive recordings on the same channel

Hi all,

I have a Hauppauge PVR-350 (one tuner) and I like to know how to make two perfect consecutive recordings on the same channel.

For example channel 1:
18.00 - 20.00h Movie_A
20.00 - 22.00h Movie_B

Because of overtime I need to have 10 min of pre and post recording.

Usally, the result is: Movie_A is complete, the beginning of Movie_B is missing (or, to be more precise, not in the file of Movie_B).

With my old VHS-VCR I used the VPS signal to avoid this. Another solution could be that for the overlapping time, MP writes the recording in two files.

At the moment, the only way to do this is with 2 tuners. There was another thread about this, which claimed MP used to do this correctly but Im a bit mirky about it.

Like Cillifo said, there is no real way of doing this. Setting your Pre and Post time to 0 would be the only way.

I arranged this way: manual recording (not through EPG) and then dvr-mpeg cut 2 times, one for each episode (or show). Dvr-mpeg cut leaves the original file changing the name with a + "original" tag so you could easy edit it after the first edit.

Thanks, so far. Using manual recording sounds to be the best way. Is there something planed with VPS?
