iMON VFD

I am having problems getting my iMON VFD to work in Media Portal. I have the "external display" plugin installed and set to iMON as well as USB port. Under iMON I have set it to use 3rd party. All it does is display the default message. Any ideas what could be wrong?

I have my external display plugin set to:

"Soundgraph iMON USB Driver 1.0"

[NOT "iMON VFD"]

Port:

"USB"

The handy part is you don't actually have to click "use third party drivers" on the imon... you can just set the Front Display Controller When iMON starts option to never.. that way if you have a remote you can still use imon to control it.

I had to set my Imon manager to NOT use the display at all. This means that unless MP is running or MP has hibernated the display is blank. This is the only way I could get it to work at all.

I had the same problem with my Acer Fusion case. Uninstall the standard VFD software and you should be fine. Is there anyway to get itunes to display on here through MediaPortal?

I had trouble getting my vfd back to life after switching from mediacenter standard player.

but just had to find the setting (right click on the plugin, i,m a mac user

) and adjusted the plugin like mentioned above ..... voila ... working vfd.

out of interest... anyone know how to get the volume know to work on the antec?

It was supported original driver that came with the case, i hven't found a solution for it yet. Not that i use the knob...... i,ve got a remote

I have an Antec Fusion case ..and can't get the Volume knob to work..unless the Antec VFD application is running and then MP can't utilize the display :-(

I believe somebody in the MP forums got the knob to work...

He used autohotkey

search the forums for that.. and google it!

(I don't have a knob... just imon pad and vfd so I can't help further)

If the Antec VFD uses the Imon software... then you CAN run the imon software AND mediaportal drivers at the SAME time!!!

If Antec has their own special software that is not imon then I can't help you...

All you have to do is disable all output from the imon settings.. but still leave imon running to control your remote.. not sure if the knob is a HID device or a part of the imon software (I think HID.. but not sure)...

I think you could get this working with a little searching on the forums.
