Country: | Has anyone managed to capture video through the SVHS port on this card. I have tried lots of times to set up a channels mapped to this connector, but no luck so far. It works fine with its own application, but not with MP, apart from TV tuner side, which is fine. Another thing, I have noticed that MP tends to randomly pause for a few seconds on live tv, followed by a spell of fast talking and rapid picture till it catches up. I have also observed this whilst scrolling menus, it suddenly stops and then leaps ahead a few seconds later. I have the above card + a Nova T-500. TV is a Sagem DLP. Not noticed this with other PVR software, I have tried them all and keep coming back to MP. Any advice very welcome. CPU is athlon 3200, with Nvidia 6200. |

Country: | Just realised that this is not a hardware decoder card, so would not work anyway. Have run out of slots, just wondered if MP supported USB capture devices. Anyone done this?. Would be really nice to run my sat box through it. |

Country: | USB cards should be supported providing they are hardware cards and have the appropriate drivers available. I don't think many are though. Have you had a look at the Beta release of TVEngine3? It has some limited support for software based cards. I don't know about this one in particular, but with others it allows you to use both the software and hardware (digital) portions of the card. |

Country: | Thanks for the reply, I have had problems with the TV server setup, so have gone back to standard version which is pretty much ok. I agree the usb converters do not mention any hardware decoding. I am guessing it would be software. Do not really like the idea of of this due to stealing too much CPU overhead. I think MP on its own need most of the power. May lose the kworld card as I probably do not need 3 tuners. I can then get a card with SVHS input to replace it. Any thoughts on what would be suitable?. |

Country: | The Hauppauge PVR series is well supported. a PVR-150 should do what you are looking for. They have been around for ages, so you should be able to pick one up without spending too much money. eBay is worth a look sometimes. |
