Hi,

i'm trying to run the milkdrop2 visualization from winamp 5.5 in mediaportal. If i place the vis_milkdrop2.dll and nscrt.dll in the musicplayer/plugins/visualization directory the mediaportal configuration crashes with the following error details:

Code:
************** Exception Text **************
System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

fixed Solved

Hi,

found the solution to my problem. MediaPortal has problems with milkdrop2 versions greater 2.0b . So if you use the dlls from Winamp 5.51 beta the error disappears and milkdrop2 works fine.

Another problem is the poor performance of the visualization in the small window normally displaying the cover art. In fullscreen mode everything is just perfect.

Chances are that's down to the ati graphics not having enough umph in MP's GUI mode, bet your cpu's use goes sky high at the time.

No thats not the problem. CPU is at 30% and the milkdrop2 vis is running perfect in winamp (windowed and fullscreen) . The vis runs jerky but its not like you are running crysis on a pentium 2 (guess it would look like a slideshow) its more of half a second it runs very smooth and then it stops for half a second then it runs 2 seconds perfect, then stopping for 200ms. It just looks very odd to me.

Hope i could describe it at least a bit with my limited english skills
