After checking cables and the aerial, i knew the problem was the PC. The software that comes with the card can play the channels ok all the time, so that meant it was MP. after much fiddling, i found that for no reason MP lost the Video and Audio PID settings for this one channel. I found the settings I needed from http://dvbforum.info and entered the missing info into config. MP then played the channel fine. About 2-3 hours later, the channel just freezes, changing channels works fine and all other channels worked. Went back to config and found that same data missing again... and around in circles we go... I tried reinstalling .Net2, renamed the MP directory and performed a repair, reinstalled Patch 4, deleted my channel config and rescanned, and i still get the same problem... the only thing left is a format and reinstall... but i'd prefer not to do that Can someone please shed some light on this?

Country: | I believe that MediaPortal updates the PID information each time that you tune a channel, so it sounds like the particular channel you are having trouble with is not transmitting the PID data correctly and MediaPortal is getting null values for the PIDs from the DVB-T stream.... What channel is giving you this grief? Is it only the SD stream - the HD stream of that channel is OK? Which city are you in (OK, I just noticed that you are in Newcastle...) - someone else may be able to confirm your experience? |

| I'm currently having a similar problem, MP dropped Film4 and also lost one of my TV Tuner Cards. Re-added my second card and the only way to get Film4 back was to delete all of the channels and re-tune them (just re-scanning picked up duplicates of the existing channels but wouldn't fix the problem) Now MP can't find a bunch of Channel4 and ITV channels (I can only get get Film4 and ITV play from these channel groups) Any ideas on a fix? I'm in Birmingham UK. |

| I'm having the same problem. Currently running MP SVN build 8/12/06, but had the issue also in 0.2, 0.2rc4, 0.2.1. Twinhan DVB-C card (vp2033) Symptom: After a couple of days MP will start losing Audio and Video PID values from seemingly random channels some I dont even tune into. If a recording is scheduled for one, the recording will fail. Other software like Twinhan's do play those channels fine. I regularly backup my channel+recordings data via the setup tool. When I notice channels not working anymore I just restore the backup and voila all channels have their pid values again.. a bit of a hassle though. |
