Default MP randomly freezes during Video & TV viewing

Hi,

I am having problems with MP randomly freezing up during TV viewing or watching Movies.

Sometimes it goes days without freezing or it can do it a couple of times a day. I have to reboot the machine to clear it.

I have attached the log files from before the crash.

Any suggestions would be appricated.

Cheers

Adam

That's the only thing i can see, signal is very poor, this has been known to cause MP to crash.

Any chance of getting aerial\cable\amplifier checked out for incoming signal.

Hi Ray,

Thanks for that, I'll see what I can do with regards to improving the incoming signal.

The freeze also randomly occurs whist watching avi/mp4 files as well which makes me think there is also a problem somewhere else?

Thanks

Adam

I am having similar trouble with MP crashing when trying to watch recorded TV files. I thought originally that it was due to maybe the codec that I was using for playback, but it also crashes while just watching a file at normal speed.
I am currently using the Nvidia Purevideo codec as it was giving me the most luck with fast forward/rewind actually showing some frames of video (some other codecs wouldn't show anything other than a single frame whilst it spooled along time-wise).
I have only recently set MP up so admit that I may still be learning the ropes, and am prepared to tweak away to get things working because when it is working it is very impressive!
