Default MP switches to Windows Desktop

Maybe I've overlooked a setting in MP, but since I installed RC2 MP switches shortly back to the Windows desktop whenever playing a movie or TV is stopped (maybe also during other events but these I am aware of). I already searched on this topic in this forum, but without success.

I had the same in the beginning when I ran Vista. This was solved by switching the Video Renderer to EVR instead of VRM9. To do this, in the configuration pannel switch to Advanced Mode (right-top). Then somewhere at the bottom of the options in the left tab, go into Directshow Filter Control, then into Video Renderer Settings. Check EVR

Hi,

this seems to be a bug with RC2. But currently its very difficult to track it down. Most of the time this is caused by a tooltip or dialog of Windows. If this happens while playback of a movie, MP sometimes minimizes to tray. Do you use the DivX decoder?

Flip.

It only happens after playing a movie or watching TV. As soon as you hit the STOP-button, MP shortly shows the Windows desktop (there is no MP icon on the taskbar!!!) and then resumes (full screen). I don't think it has something to do with the DivX-decoder issue (which is not installed anyway).

Please try using EVR instead of VMR9.

I thought I had EVR in use, but I will check tonight at home.

Confirmed: EVR was not active, I enabled it and the switching was gone, but now I experience 'light' pixel patterns in parts of the screen which should be completely black. So black is not black anymore with EVR ?!?

Thanks, I had the same problem and this fixed it, although I'm not sure about any changes in picture quality.
