Default No Deinterlacing

Since installing Media Portal 0.2 final, MP will no longer deinterlace 1080i HD ATSC streams. All sorts of interlace artifacts are all over the picture. Here's the data from the supprt applet:

Synopsis::

When playing back 1080i interlace ATSC HDTV streams, no deinterlacing is performed, no matter what setting I select.

Any ideas? Thanks...

Did you check the settings for the DScaler Decoder in MP Config?

And: Try other codecs as well. (just my 2cents).

I'm wondering how you can use DScaler for HD content at all?
You'd need a commercial decoder allowing for hardware acceleration.

Problem apparently solved.

To reduce the stutter I was getting while using ffdshow post-processing, I had switched the Dscaler colorspace from YUY2 to YV12, which yielded fantastic improvements in XviD's and standard SD recordings and got rid of the stutter.

But that's also when MP stopped deinterlacing the 1080i and 480i streams.

I switched the colorspace back to YUY2 and my 1080i streams are deinterlacing again, though now ffdshow makes things stutter too much again. Guess I'll have to shut off ffdshow again... the lesser of two evils.

Kinda surprised to hear that Dscaler shouldn't be working with HD broadcasts without hardware acceleration...? It's never been a problem.

Thanks all!
