Exclamation [Patch] Multi DVB Tuner Issue and channel-scan crash - Windows XP

This patch will fix the following issues:
  1. fixes crash during channel-scan on WindowsXP
  2. fixes problem which avoids to use more than one BDA TV-Card with WindowsXP

Patch is ::here::

You need to put this in a safe directory and run the registration file. (i.e. c:\dvbfix)

Do not put it in the Windows\System32 directory where the original is or Windows will replace it after a reboot.

If you use WindowsMCE 2005, then you do not need this patch.
You just have to run WindowsUpdate or install RollUp 2.

DO NOT APPLY KB896626 AFTER YOU INSTALLED THIS HOTFIX!!!!
because this will re-enable the old version of PsisDecd.dll again and dissable the hotfix from this thread!

WindowsXP - SP3, This DVBFIX is still required.

Please make sure that you also install the other patches mentioned in the wiki -> ::requirements:: section!

No, this patch is for DVB tuners only. I have changed the title to reflect that....

To verify that this patch has been applied successfully, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information > Tools > DirectX Diagnostic Tool and select the DirectX Files tab. Look for the 2 files (psisdecd.dll & mpeg2data.ax) and check that they are now both at version 6.5.2710.2732.

That's correct - I believe that this patch is already included in RU2.

This is only required for Windows XP users (as the topic says).

Yeh the signup thing I cant really help, for a while it didnt need it as I logged in then posted the direct link but they obviously realised you could do that. Legally we arent allowed to host them apparently because they are files not to be distributed but that site seems to host a whole heap of them (hacked ones for use with australian DVB) so they dont notice.

I wouldnt download this, Callifo also was the one that posted the files on the au board but made no post about the files on the board (only made 4 post on it so far), file indicates these are the original files from windows that microsoft have been replaced through updates..

/edit: dont download this without more explanation I mean

They are the files from Windows MCE2005 rollup-package 2. They are the only way youll get a fix (if you having problems) in Windows XP with more than one DVB tuner. By applying them (to another directory other than windows\system32) windows will now use these newer files and it wont have any trouble building multiple graphs (multiple tuner graphs) unlike the broken files supplied in XP SP2 (no patches available from microsoft).

Basically unless you have problems with more than one dvb tuner and you have XP it wont do anything. This was a fix Frodo came up with a while ago but some people still dont find it through search so a sticky was a much better idea.

Their naming conventon on the au board has nothing to do with it, I just put "original" because they are the original MCE RU2 files which while not useful to those users of MCE, they are useful to us (AU MCE users are use hacked copies of those files).
