Country: | What Taipan suggest wont work for me as I did it the hard way to begin with but I can confirm that that bat file does what is needed. I put the files into my Program Files directory and ran it and its registered as it should. Doing it the way suggest above youll also need to get a hexeditor and modify your WFP. Then use a registry key to stop WFP from loading. If you dont the files you replaced, will be overwritten without your consent on next bootup. Even if you replace the originals in the install cab files, it still pulls fresh copies from somewhere. |

Country: | Mine was a real cunt, and only after struggling for hours and completely disabling WFP, some said to me on IRC "why dont you just not put it in the windows\system32 folder". Felt like a fool  WFP only protects files, not their associations so you can do whatever you want as long as you dont overwrite them. |

| Portal Member | Woot, I got it to work, had a spare 5 minutes this morning and rebooted into safe did a search for both files renames and replaced all that were found then copied the new files into c:\program files, unregistered the ones in system32 and registered the new ones, rebooted and under dxdiag they're listed as the new versions! Never gonna reboot now incase WFP replaces them  |
