Pinnacle PCTV Stereo - TV Tuning Troubles

Hi,

First of all, I'd like to inform this is my first post here on the forums!
I hope it'll be worth time checking

Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3500 + Venice
Leadtek 6600 GT
Hitachi 80 GB Harddisk
Kingston 1 GB ValueRam
TV Tuner: Pinnacle PCTV Stereo

Here's my problem:

I've installed the stable version of Media Portal 0.1.3 and the RC2 of the beta version. At Both versions I can't get the TV Tuning section to work. Listening to music, watching movies all goes fine.

Media Portal does seem to detect the card at install (though it displays 'Pinnacle 100i DVBT) but when scanning for channels using the wizard it can't find anything. I did succesfully look up the list of channels for my region (The Netherlands) but still I can't even use the TV turn on/turn off button in Media Portal.

Is my card supported at all, (some say yes, some say no) and if so, how can I get it to work with Media Portal? (the card does work fine with the Pinnacle PCTV Vision program btw)

If you need any further information, please feel free to ask. Since this is my first post, I don't exactly know what information is crucial for you to hear.

Hi FreddyFish,

It looks like your TV card is a "software encoding" card and you can get it supported in MediaPortal by following the instructions here....

Thanks Taipan, too bad my tv card isn't supported by Media Portal.
Please let me know if any of you know an alternative that does support the Pinnacle PCTV Stereo card.

Hi Freddy,

Although your card is not currently supported. It may be possible for it to be supported if you help by providing the required information. This is very easy to do and Taipan already supplied the link above with instructions for how you can go about getting this information and who you should send it to.
