Multi-disc movies (ie - Gladiator Disc 1, Gladiator Disc 2) I manually edit the database to include both iso's (on the files tab) I use KMPlayer as external DVD player. When I select the movie from 'titles' view, it prompts me to select which disc I want to play, then....nothing. Eventually, KMPlayer tells me it has no filter to play the file This is because DaemonTools will not mount the ISO when selected from a 'mult-disc' scenario - looks like MediaPortal attempts to just 'play' the file directly with KMPlayer, rather than first mounting it in Daemon (could be wrong, but thats what it looks like). If I add each disc to the database seperately as individual 'movies', everything plays OK. However, I then end up with a list that looks like this: Gladiator (Disc 1) Gladiator (Disc 2) Some other movie (Disc 1) Some other movie (Disc 2) Some other movie (Disc 3) Some other movie (Disc 4) Another movie (Disc 1) Another movie (Disc 2) Another movie (Disc 3) etc etc etc. Not very pretty!! Any ideas? |

Country: | Cheers Guzzi - at least I now know I am not going completely mad!! I have played around with this a little, and used just the internal player rather than KMPlayer When selecting a disc from a multi-disc set (as described above), media portal just goes to a black screen for a few seconds, then returns the the movie list. I am positive this is because it doesnt recognise the disc as an ISO (and therefore mount it with Daemon Tools). It just assumes it is 'some sort of media file' and attempts to play it directly, which of course fails Does anybody have multi-disc DVD ISO's working properly? |

Country: | Same problem here,'i'm not using ISO anymore, I rip to Video_TS folders (.vob files) I add a .vob from each part to teh database then it works fine. I posted a request to be able to rip to Video_TS with Media Slayer but nobody replied,,, Also I dont get any OSD info (IMDB info) whilst playing a .iso file. Ripping to Video_TS works better with MP in my experiance....

Country: | Converting everything back to VIDEO_TS folders is easier said than done when you have just spent several months gradually ripping/converting well over 1000 DVD's to ISOs!! I am sure there was a reason I had to use ISO's because I was using an external player (KMPlayer), although I can't remember what it is now. Maybe a short term fix is use the internal player instaead of an external one and then use ISO's for single disc sets, and folder structure for multi-disc sets. Still seems a bit of a crappy workaround for somebody with thousands of ISOs Surely it shouldn't be too difiicult to fix this, for someone who knows what they are doing (which rules me out!!) |
