Hi

For some reason PowerScheduler is not waking up my PC to record some things I have scheduled.

I use S3 Standby, Power Scheduler standbys the PC fine and if I manually resume the PC it starts up, but it seems Power Scheduler doesn't want to do it around 90% of the time

As you can see from my attached logs, it knows it needs to wake up at a particular time, but doesn't. In my mediaportal.bak file you will see the 2 entries that Power Scheduler needed to wake up for (a scheduled show at 0:21 and an EPG update at 3:00), but the PC did not wake up for either. The first entry in my mediaportal.log file is for when I manually woke the PC up at around 10 am this morning.

It doesn't seem to be related to a particular recording type (ie: record once, or record anytime on this channel).

Any suggestions?

Thanks

PS: keep up the good work on MP!

pipeme,

after taking a closer look to your log I saw the following

=> This means that the next planed wake up should be 12:21 AM on August 30.

For the rest of the file MP was not in Home or BasicHome Screen and therefore did not shutdown.

I see no problem with the logs you attached. If there is still one please send then new logs.

thanks mate but I think you read it wrong.

it's saying the wake up time is on 30/06/2007, that's the 30th of June, not August.

I also reinstalled the OS and RC1 last night (fresh install, full format) and still get the same issue unfortunately.

I tried a "record once" and a "record every time on this channel" schedule, and both did not work.

Here is the media portal log files for today's test. I enabled the debug logging option

Same thing occured, I scheduled a program, the log shows that PowerScheduler knows about it and says it is going to start 2 minutes before the recording start time, but doesn't.

I still can not see any Problem in the logs.
Is the suspend mode running without MP?
What about hibernation mode?

No, MP is running in suspend, when I wake up the PC manually MP starts up so I presume it is.

I have not tried hibernation, will try and let you know.

As an FYI, I have the Media Centre Standby tool (MST) running to allow me to wake up the PC from standby using my remote. I will uninstall this to see if that is the cause (shouldn't be as I have had this running and PS working before).

My System

Default

I've been following this thread because I have been having the same problem - Power Scheduler not waking up the computer for recordings. I tried various things to sort it, including a complete reinstall, with no joy.

I started to become suspicious when I went back to 0.2.2.0 (no SVN) and was still having problems. So, I did another complete reintsall using 0.2.3.0 RC1 + SVN, but not MST (which I have been using). It seems to be working properly now.

So, my advice is to try again without MST, but be aware that you may need to reinstall the OS, as simply uninstalling MST didn't work for me.

thanks nfox, will give that a try.

It's weird, cause as I said I had MST and PS working fine on a previous install. Maybe it's an incompatability with RC1?

I will try a fresh OS install with 0.2.2, test, then install MST, then test again then upgrade to RC 1 and test again.

Will try it out and post my findings.
