| My MediaPortal is not playing certain h.264 MKV files. These same files will play perfectly fine in VLC and Media Player Classic. Posted below is the error log I get. 2008-04-26 15:06:13.937500 [ERROR][MPMain]: failed:unable to add filter irectVobSub (auto-loading version) to graph2008-04-26 15:06:13.937500 [ERROR][MPMain]: failed filter irectVobSub (auto-loading version) not found2008-04-26 15:06:14.593750 [ERROR][MPMain]: VideoPlayer9: Failed to render file -> vmr9 2008-04-26 15:06:15.078125 [ERROR][MPMain]: VideoPlayerVMR9: Exception while cleanuping DShow graph - Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComO bject(Object o) at MediaPortal.Player.VideoPlayerVMR9.Cleanup() 2008-04-26 15:06:15.234375 [ERROR][MPMain]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play - Y:\Videos\Movies\300\300 (2007).mkv - skipping track! 2008-04-26 15:06:17.562500 [ERROR][MPMain]: No translation found for id 109811 2008-04-26 15:06:27.312500 [ERROR][MPMain]: No translation found for id 109811 2008-04-26 15:06:27.578125 [ERROR][MPMain]: failed:unable to add filter irectVobSub (auto-loading version) to graph2008-04-26 15:06:27.578125 [ERROR][MPMain]: failed filter irectVobSub (auto-loading version) not found2008-04-26 15:06:27.906250 [ERROR][MPMain]: VideoPlayer9: Failed to render file -> vmr9 2008-04-26 15:06:28.546875 [ERROR][MPMain]: VideoPlayerVMR9: Exception while cleanuping DShow graph - Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComO bject(Object o) at MediaPortal.Player.VideoPlayerVMR9.Cleanup() 2008-04-26 15:06:28.640625 [ERROR][MPMain]: No translation found for id 109811 2008-04-26 15:06:28.656250 [ERROR][MPMain]: No translation found for id 109811 2008-04-26 15:06:36.375000 [ERROR][MPMain]: No translation found for id 109811 2008-04-26 15:06:36.546875 [ERROR][MPMain]: failed:unable to add filter irectVobSub (auto-loading version) to graph2008-04-26 15:06:36.546875 [ERROR][MPMain]: failed filter irectVobSub (auto-loading version) not found2008-04-26 15:08:25.640625 [ERROR][MPMain]: No translation found for id 109811 2008-04-26 15:08:25.656250 [ERROR][MPMain]: No translation found for id 109811 2008-04-26 15:08:31.140625 [ERROR][MPMain]: No translation found for id 109811 Any help would be appreciated, thanks. And other h264/mkv files seem to work fine. It's these in particular that are causing me problems. |

| i think i have a similar problem, trying to play this mkv file 720p x.264. I guess the file plays but the screen is black and i have no sound, i can move back and forth, pause, etc. and the the time bar on top shows the correct length of the movie and all looks as if the movie is running, but.. no image and no sound. The file plays with no problem in vlc. i attached the log files (im using MP1.0RC1 + SVN 18951) |

Country: | First i'd check my codecs with filmerit (link in sig) For playing mkv files, have found either CCCP (using this myself atm, very basic easy setup) or Vista codec pack will do the job perfectly, just make sure in haali config autoload VS is set to yes.

Country: | Hi, I have been messing around with this also before and now I came to a working configuration for me. As I see it, the only thing needed is basically FFDshow tryout and the matroska splitter to handler the mkv container. FFDShow does have support for subs, which I am using and it is so far working fine. If you do have vs filter installed at the same time as FFDshow is set to support subtitles you will get double subs... Then just setup FFDShow by ticking the subtitel box and doublecheck that H.264 in the codecs list is enabled. In the MPEG2 case I think that FFDshow normaly is disabled since most systems have it allready installed.... /P |
