After reinstalling my htpc, I installed Media Portal 0.2.2. Installation went fine but I am unable to play any video (.avi, .mkv). I also installed the latest satsuki decoder pack. The wierdest thing is I can play any file I want with Windows Media Player 11. I found several entries in the error log saying "[ERROR] [MPMain]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play - file path - skipping track!". Am I missing something ? Thx in advance for your help. David. |

Country: | Are we talking about the same ffdshow, the current updated one is "ffdshow tryout" and yes i am using Vista Ultimate. So during install it should give you some options to configure, if it does not, try rebooting and then reinstall after deleting the c\programs\ffdshow folder.

Country: | I can't play high definition movies since reinstalling XP. Try uninstalling all codecs then download one from Microsoft. I got a "unofficial" version of NVIDIA PureVideo and its fantastic, pure 5.1 sound, high quality playback. but the standard version is like £50. Have you also got the latest graphics drivers for your card? i doubt that'll be the cause but its worth a try. If not reinstall windows, don't do a destructive restore, reinstall windows over the top in case its corrupted system files. Good luck
