But since it is with my new HTPC just for MP, I'm asking here for help... Going to stand-by seems to be normal. When I try to get it back on, it seems to try for a while (fans and HD spinning up, but no signal to display) but after 5-10 seconds HD spins down and after couple of seconds it starts to reboot. Tried once with TV-server turned off, didn't have any affect. I read somewhere, that USB-devices could have affect. I have Logitech coordless desktop and WLAN-dongle connected to usb. I will try next to remove them. Well, as I'm going to remove WLAN, I could test without firewall and antivirus software as well... But what else could I try? Couldn't find any error messages in system event log. A |

Country: | USB devices usually cause 1 of 2 things, they will either stop something going into standby, or bring out of unwanted resume. Whatever it is, during resume, it is forcing a reboot. Might be worth downloading bootvis and setting a resume with logging for any errors. When running use TRACE and select STANDBY AND RESUME and see if anything unusual in results. I also like using the MCE standby tool, as it quickly lets you pick up on possible usb and other hardware, that may give you standby issues, and with it running a least makes sure your setup will meet ACPI standards.

Country: | USB Mouse and keyboard usually don't cause trouble and properly support all power modes. I'm using a USB WiFi adaptor that works just fine in all power modes, as well, but I don't have enough evidence to say if that's the rule or the exception. |

Country: | I have a similar behavior since 0.2.2. With 0.2.1 everything worked well with the same settings. On the german forum they told me there were known bugs in the new powerscheduler. |

But I got this problem solved. I guess final reason was display driver. I updated it to latest version, and now 3 times out of 4 it goes nicely to standby and back. (Don't know why it can't do it every time )Bootvis didn't help, because every time I had it running to standby and back, display didn't start at all after standby (but it lead me to possible driver problem). MCE Standby tool didn't help with the problem. But it has nice feature disabling mouse from booting the machine. I don't want moving mouse to start computer, so this is useful for me. Next is to investigate if PowerScheduler problem is solved... Last edited by Nightflyer; 2007-03-02 at 10:48. | |

Country: | Well, I was celebrating too early. Now display doesn't start after standby at all. It doesn't go to reboot anymore, but display just shows "No Signal" (Hyundai Q321 TV-set connected with DVI-HDMI-cable). I suppose I have to test it with another display. If problem is with TV-set, it doesn't get wakeup signal or something. Any help still very wellcome ![]() BTW, PowerScheduler didn't work. Last edited by Nightflyer; 2007-03-02 at 10:58. |

Country: | The configuration has a setting to "Turn Monitor/TV On after standby" on the general settings. Did you enable that? This sould have been added to fix this kind of problems. Last edited by igalan; 2007-03-02 at 12:18. |

Country: | I've been battling resume from standby problems since I began using a laptop with media portal. I have never really got to the bottom of why sometimes it will resume from standby fine and yet other times it just hangs with a blank screen. I nave managed to get it to work most of the time by ensuring that I close MP prior to putting the maching to standby and also using PVR-Scheduler to also run a .bat file that pauses 3 secs and also ensures MP is closed. PVR-Scheduler also re-starts MP after a resume from standby after also running the same .bat file. Media Portal is great and its only these resume from standby issues that prevent it from being usable by all the family. |
