I was wondering why I can't play .m3u radio stream from within "my radio". I've been into config> radio stations>add and put the details in for 2 different radio streams "http://www.protonradio.com/proton.m3u" and "http://www.friskyradio.com/frisky.m3u" - along with name and bitrate etc etc. However when I launch mediaportal and go to "my radio" when I select either of these nothing happens at all ? This has me wondering if mediaportal supports .m3u streams ? Interestingly though if I select either of these stations to autostart (from within config again) they play fine when mediaportal launches. If I stop playblack and go into "my radio" and try to start play from there again nothing happens. So they play if are selected to autostart, but can't be started again (or at all) from within "my radio" ???? (note: I have managed to find and and these stations from the "shoutcast" search (they have different streams, http://scfire-ntc-aa03.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1041 is the proton radio for example). These ones play fine from within "my radio") I'm confused, is this bug or have I doen something wrong ? Last edited by slickric21; 2008-08-02 at 10:51. |

| I had the same problem with this stream: http://icecast.commedia.org.uk:8000/phonic.mp3.m3u I removed the .m3u, set the bitrate to 64 and now it works. |

Country: | I don't think that "http://www.protonradio.com/proton.m3u" is the actual stream URL. These are playlists that can list URLs. They are an easy way to have a link on your webpage that will open a player and start playing music. I believe that Mediaportal needs the actual URL of the stream. I opened "http://www.protonradio.com/proton.m3u" in winamp, and when I did a File / View file info, I got back that the actual stream was "http://scfire-ntc-aa04.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1041". Did the same for "http://www.friskyradio.com/frisky.m3u" and its actual URL is "http://scfire-ntc-aa03.stream.aol.com/stream/1015". These URLs should work in Mediaportal. |
