TV - HTPC Connection:

I recently started using MP on Windows XP MCE 2005, all was running fine, the recently I upgraded my PC to windows Vista. Since then I have been encountering some problems:

TV is quite unreliable, sometimes when I am changing channels I lose picture and sound and I just get a black screen. the mini epg program seems to work, I can change channels but no picture or sound and occasionally MP freezes. I have tried different codecs, i reinstalled Windows from scratch and got same results.

Any help, or views will be greatly appreciated, logs attached.

I have encountered a couple of minor issues too, one is to do with the sound and I have seen it reported by at least two other people, where if I lower the sound in MP I can not get it back to maximum within MP. Finally, sometimes on startup the splash screen crashes, it does not stop the program from running though.

I too have experienced problems running under Vista. I cannot tell if it is more unreliable than under other OSes, but so far I would say it is reasonable stable for me at least. A few times I have had to close down the program and restart it though.

Right now I am running the config program and the normal program as administrator. That was necessary for me to get a tv screen at all. But now all channels (including encrypted channels using smartcard) works like a charm.

I can contribute with a fix for running MPW
I had to manually create the directory "Temporary ASP.NET Files" under "c:\windows\Microsoft .NET\Framework\v 2.0.50727". That fixed a problem saying something like "Class 'WebService_' not found ..." when surfing to localhost:81

Cheers,

/Peter
